Day 2: Cairo Sightseeing Tour A highlight today is your tour of the remaining 7th Wonder of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza. Marvel at the sight of the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Enter the amazing Solar Boat Museum to view the funeral boat of King Khufu. Your visit to Giza ends at the famous Sphinx, carved from a single limestone block. Tonight’s highlight is the ‘Sound and Light’ show in front of the Sphinx and the Pyramids.
Day 3: Cairo – Alexandria This morning travel by luxury coach to Alexandria. On arrival tour the Kom el Shokafa or catacombs. Enjoy lunch at the lively Fish Market Restaurant. This afternoon visit the National Museum. This morning continue your tour visiting the Roman Amphitheatre, Pompey’s Pillar, the famous Bibliotheca Alexandrina and admire Qait Bay Citadel. Tonight enjoy dinner in the hotel.
Day 4: Alexandria - Al Alamein – Cairo A highlight today is a visit to El Alamein and the Commonwealth War Cemetery. Continue by luxury coach to Cairo. This evening join your Egyptologist for a fascinating lecture on Egypt at a private Soirée. Two Night Stay: Cairo
Day 5: Cairo – Luxor Early morning flight to Luxor (ancient Thebes).On arrival enjoy morning tea in the beautiful Sofitel Old Winter Palace.Visit Karnak Temple, a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons and obelisks dedicated to the Thebian Gods. Dining this evening choose from: (1) La Corniche Restaurant; or (2) El Tarboush Oriental Restaurant; or (3) El Nakheel Italian Restaurant. Overnight Stay: Luxor
Day 6: Luxor – Nile Cruise This morning cross to the west bank of the Nile and explore the Colossi of Memnon and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. The final stop is the Valley of the Kings. Enter the tomb of Tutankhamen before returning to Luxor. Check in to your luxurious Nile Cruise boat. This evening visit Luxor Temple. Please note cruise itinerary may vary dependent on ship. Day 7: Luxor – Esna This morning join your Tour Director for a walking tour of Luxor’s colourful markets. This afternoon set sail for Esna Lock.
Day 8: Esna – Kom Ombo Sail to Edfu and visit the magnificently preserved Temple of Horus. Continue to Kom Ombo where your boat moors overnight.
Day 9: Kom Ombo – Aswan This morning visit Kom Ombo Temple. Continue to Aswan and take a motorboat to the Temple of Isis at Philae. This afternoon visit a local Nubian village for a fascinating insight into life on the Nile.
Day 10: Abu Simbel – Cairo Your cruise ends this morning and you travel to the Aswan High Dam. Fly to Abu Simbel and visit the temples of Ramesses ll and Queen Nefertari. Afterwards fly to Cairo. Two Night Stay: Cairo
Day 11: Cairo This morning tour the incredible Egyptian Museum. Visit King Tutankhamen’s collection. Then enter the Mummies Room.
